The Muslim students should go to equally good Government schools. After all, do Muslim students feel compelled to attend Mission/Catholic schools?
Education in the academically excellent Mission/Catholic schools go beyond reading, writing and maths.
I would imagine a non-Muslim cannot go to an Islamic Restaurant and complain being served Halal meat or demand to be served pork chops!

Muslims are full of hypocrisy and they know it. The fact that the government has taken over the mission schools does not mean the rules and regulations has also change. The government is paying the teachers alright but the core value of these mission schools remain the same.
If the government, after taken over these schools did change the rules and regulations of these schools, then the Muslims have a case but as we speak, they will have to bribe the judges at the Supreme court to rule in their favor.
We know that they have money so, what is preventing them from building their own schools to stop their children from attending morning devotion in missions to pollute their minds?
Muslims have attended these mission schools for year and I do not know any of them who have been converted into Christianity against their will. I am throwing a challenge to them to prove me wrong. Yes, they can call me any demeaning name and I care not because I will not send my child to any Islamic school then try foolishly to force them to change their rules and regulation in my favor. Where is their commonsense?
If we want chaos to rule and destroy our already fragile nation, we should keeping pushing the "nuclear button" and we will live to chew our tongue.

Everything that units us as a peaceful nation is under attack by the USELESS NDC PARTY. Before they divide Ghana and leave us in shreds VOTE THE USELESS NDC PARTY OUT IN 2016.
We have lived peacefully without any TRIBAL OR RELIGIOUS POLITICS before the USELESS NDC PARTY WAS FORMED and their manifesto signed with blood. We don't need any division in Ghana. WE ARE INTER-MARRIED, AND WE ARE ONE PEOPLE. NDC IS DANGEROUS, VOTE THEM OUT IN 2016.

It is interesting that, at a tikme when there are so many things to tnhink of, certain people are trying very hard to fun religious problems among us.Why is it always christianity and Islam and not other religion? The fact is that, some greedy politicians are solidly behind this nonsense.Have we not been in schools with our muslim brothers over the years and have no problems with all of the concernes they are raising? Why now? Because there are certain selfish so called politicians out there who are doing everything possible to see this country turn to what they want. If you can have a muslim politicians going round telling muslims to vote for them because they are part of them and that the government is discriminating against them, what do you expect? Just listen to the comments coming from some of them. Blaming and inciting muslims against the government with the excuse that, the government should not have warned against religious discriminations against muslims. What kind of people do we have among us. They are so frustrated for power that they are even prepared to go the extra mile. They are making an a fuss about this trivial issue that can be easily solved without problems. Saboteurs and nation looters

Mahama is following the prescriptions of the OIC who are more dangerous than the IMF. You remember AMA banning churches in classrooms, Northern Regional Minister accusing the Christian clergy of encouraging politicians to be corrupt. These are all plans aimed at suppressing Christianity to please the OIC.
OIC means Organization of Islamic Countries. They have member nations across the globe and Prez Mahama is seriously working hard to send Ghana to OIC's Observer Status so that he can get some funding to buy votes in the Zongos and other Muslim communities since such funds are only allowed to be spent in such places. One of the conditions needed to qualify to the OIC Observer Status is to scrap Christian mission schools. Ghanaians must be careful since a similar thing happened in Nigeria under the military regime of Gen Babangida and it brought a lot of chaos in that country and collapsed their secondary school education. Ghanaian Catholic Bishops should please contact Bishop Jatau of Kaduna State

why are quran and arabic taught in islamic schools?.In mixed islamic schools male and female students are separated in the same classrooms why?why do islamic schools close early on fridays?.why is it that only a mosque is built as a place of worship in islamic schools?.If these practices really go on in islamic schools then what is the source of these traditions? And what are the aims of these traditions? Are islamic schools not government assisted?if yes why these muslim traditions?.Did they consider other religions before instituting their traditions in their schools? Then why can't christians also institute their own values and traditions in their own missionary schools? If muslims are driven by religious emotions in seeking education then islamic school is their channel.I forsee islam devicing every means to trash other religions especially christianity.
People claim government funds are used to assist christian mission schools.Yes but which of the christian mission schools exempt the non christians from enjoying tuition, library, boarding, dining, sports etc.So why won't people who are dragged by religious emotions enroll in schools which will build their religious faith.I can't get it.

Bro Kofi Ata, one thing you can sure of is; I will Show you the door should you ever visit me and breach the decorum.
The brand Mission School or Institution is not new. Mfantsipim ( Wesley High School) is a Mehtodist institution since 1876. That will not Change. Their female all Girls School Wesley Girls high School is also not going to change. A muslim female student cannot tell the sisters at the school to change their ethos like I want to wear my Hijab because I am a Moslem. St Martins, St Johns,St Marys etc. These are are names without ambiguity. Many of our Muslim brothers and sisters with whom I attended school in the olden days were more tolerant than the present breed. Bro Kofi Ata, we don't want any radicalisation of society be it from Christians, Jews, Muslim or otherwise. Period! BOKO HARAM Hello!

With a constitutional principle of official secularism, the Turkish government has traditionally banned women who wear headscarves from working in the public sector. The ban applies to teachers, lawyers, parliamentarians and others working on state premises. The ban on headscarves in the civil service and educational and political institutions was expanded to cover non-state institutions. Female lawyers and journalists who refused to comply with the ban were expelled from public buildings such as courtrooms and universities.[4]
In the late 1970s and early 1980s, the number of university students wearing headscarves increased substantially and in 1984, the first widespread application of headscarf ban came into effect at the universities, but throughout the 1980s and 1990s, the ban was not uniformly enforced and many students were able to graduate. The headscarf ban in public spaces, including schools and universities (public and private), courts of law, government offices and other official institutions, is only for students, workers and public servants. Hence, mothers of pupils or visitors have no problems at all entering the primary schools, but they would not be able to work as teachers. Similarly, at the courts of law, the ban only involves judges, attorneys, lawyers and other workers. Wearing headscarves in photos on official documents like licenses, passports, and university enrollment documents is also prohibited. Universities and schools refused registering women students unless they submit ID photographs with bared hair and neck.[5]
A regulation in, 16 July 1982 specified that: the clothing and appearances of personnel working at public institutions; the rule that female civil servants' head must be uncovered.
An interpretation of this law in 1997 extended the ban to the wearing of headscarves in all universities in Turkey.[6] The debate over headscarves in universities has been the most contentious of all and has been an important element in the politics of Turkey since 2000.[7]

This is where our foolish bigotry has brought us. What is the use of getting a Jehovah Witness or a Muslim to attend a worship they don't believe in? You talk of ensuring that during Morning devotion every student must attend so that nobody stays behind. Couldn't a teacher be assigned to these other minor groups of few students, to meet in another room to read their religious books during that period? Are our religious leaders oblivious of what is happening around the world? The world is changing and will continue to change, the Catholic church itself has changed, the Muslim religion is also changing, what didn't bother them in the past is now an issue. The key word is accommodation. In these times of religious turmoil we need to keep our heads and stop the NPP NDC nonsense.

In a boat disaster in the Volta lake, some commuters sadly lost their lives.
Hon Joe Gidisu, arrogantly and provocatively openly stated officially in parliament that, President Kufuor had deliberately refused to put in measures to prevent such disasters in pursuance of NPP deliberate Ewe ethnic-cleaning agenda.
This preposterous, ethnocentric and highly divisive statement was calmly swallowed by NPP in the name of tolerance and unrepentant NDC activists, Joe Gidisu and his fellow NDC MPs were delighted. Gidisu bnever aspologised for his grave recklessness
Mills Era
A more serious boat disaster occurred on the same Volta Lake and as many as 36 commuters died. Now, the loudmouthed NDC activists and Joe Gidisu were ‘mumu’ as if nothing happened.
I am tempted to conclude that the disaster was a divine intervention to teach Joe Gidisu and his NDC a big lesson.
Where is decency in this democracy?
Where is the tribalism in this our democracy?
Who are the ethnocentric bigots?
Who should be invited by BNI because of hate speech?
Reject ethnocentric hypocrisy

The elementary fact of history tells us the Bible was first to get to the colony, before the colony became the Gold Coast; before the warriors arrived with government that did not have an iota of interest in the education of the people in the colonies.
So the people with the Bible established schools to civilize the natives, to keep themselves busy, and to feel good about themselves for civilizing.
The logical extension of our "Religious Hypocrisy Should Be Rejected", is the establishment of public schools by the national government for all the people, where prayers and devotions to religion is not on the public school menu; schools funded by tax payers for all people - religious and non-religious.
Then the mission schools and the Islamic schools, and all the other "religious" schools would have their facilities for their programs to themselves; and the taxpayers will not have to fund a pesewa of their programs, not even the salaries of their teachers. Then they can pray all they want. That certainly is the sure-fire way to cure the "co-opted by the government" problem(s).
That, we submit, is the secular "vision ordained", at least logically, by the Constitution of Ghana. In that scheme, religion is a private matter for the parents and their children, and the Churches, Mosques, Synagogues, etc., whatever they choose, including none.
If the religious beliefs of Muslim students are at odds with certain religious principles, Christian traditions and ethos of the Mission/Catholic schools, then they're in the wrong educational environment.
