Rawlings declines NAFCA lifetime achievement award

Former President Jerry John Rawlings has declined a Lifetime Achievement and Humanitarian Award proposed by the Nollywood and African Film Critics Awards (African NAFCA).

A statement issued by his office Wednesday said he had taken note of publications in the local media indicating he had been selected as recipient of the award.

“The office wishes to confirm that President Rawlings has formally declined the award,” the statement said, and urged the public to “take due note of the fact.”
