On the contrary, we were too slow on the Counter. There were many instances our boys could have released a long pass to counter but decided to send the ball sideways and back. AA, can you for heavens sake tell the guys to stop overelaborating at the back and sending useless back passes. We may pay dearly for that. Our full backs especially KA was very guilty of that. Please correct the mistakes! It shows lack of discipline.

if you don't have midfielders who are ingenious and move intelligently off the ball your defenders will have the tendency to send the ball back and sideways or will look up and send a long pass in.
what kwesi appiah should do is to abandon the so called partnership between two strikers and play a lone striker and add more numbers to our midfield play. we don't have players who can be comfortable on the ball and propelling it forward. so lets have more players in midfield release muntari to the wings but not in the middle.

Haven watched all the countries in Group G preparation towards the World Cup I can now draw conclusions to the challenges Ghana face in the group. Whiles I wish to see Ghana proceed to the round of 16, I'm a realist and would not fool myself with the illusion of thinking that Ghana are good enough to beat both Germany and Portugal. I'm even doubtful that Ghana can beat USA this time around and it's not because of the lack of good players we have but style of play and the formation the Ghana Black Stars have adopted under the coach.
Ghana is well known for our strong midfield but it seems our midfield lacks creativity in the style Ghana is playing with K. ASAMOAH being opted to the left back position. No one to make penetrating passes for our strikers to have a chance of scoring. Furthermore, there is no steadiness in our midfield which will put pressure on our weak defense. Without Essien in midfield we will look weak against Portugal and Germany. I saw Ireland have a beat down by Portugal 5-1 yesterday and I must say that it was very impressive. I smell an early exit for the Ghana Black Stars and the coach being fired after that.

kwadwo's creativity is in the mind or let me say he feasted us with his creativity at the under 23 level. honestly kwadwo has been short on creativity in midfield. generally he is highly annonymous for blackstars. however, kwadwo was very sublime when he played as a left back against DRC and he even made a statement he liked that position.
i agree with you that we need essien in midfield. he should be the fulcrum with either rabiu/afriyie/badu as the prime defensive midfielder and essien going foward surrounded by kpb, or atsu, andre, and muntari on the wings.

If he has to be replaced then it must be a Goal Hungry person - one whose main job is target goals and not be like the Twinkle-twinkle midfielders who are excellent in all things except going for goals.
By the way, AA should now see why playing more strikers is good. A strikers joy and goal is scoring goals so if you have 3 or 4 strkers you'll always score more - 4 Goals, 5 goals etc. One skriker + One Goal that was why we were used to winning 1-0, 2-0, 2-1. With hungry strikers 2 or 3 in a match you can get more goals, and quickly too to settle matters. Too much reliance of midfielders bring WASTED CHANCES as they like to Tap-tap all the time until all chances are lost. Again they waste counter attacks. AA, please NOTE. - Freeman

It is okay for AA to be happy with his boys. Can he advise them to move the ball towards the opponent's goal. certainly not backwards. decision making as to who to pass the ball to should be snappy. Please DONT HESITATE for too long. KASA should be told to stop antics in front of our box - two steps over a ball when you just pass is highly unnecessary and is appealing only when you are ahead.

It looks like we are dangerously short handed with strikers and defenders. That is because Appiah has overloaded the midfield and is trying to experiment with playing midfielders at different positions while natural players for those positions are cut.We cannot play Essien and Asamoah as defenders and with Accam's situation being less than fluid my suggestion is of course to bring back Accam and Adusei.Accam will fill in the perfectly in the front and Adusei will bring more man power to the back.As we stand right now if a defender picks a red or even a yellow card we will be in serious problem. Please stop experimenting, you have had enough time for that.Let Asamoah play his natural position where he is more effective and comfortably.A word to a wise is more than enough.
