The writer did his best by bringing this unsightly scenes to our notice. We must determine how to clear the mess and prevent a repetition.
Surely, the city authorities must act.

Where must people send the refuse to? To their own houses? Don't you see dustbins filled with refuse and placed in front of houses waiting for the garbage lorries to come? Sometimes the filled dustbins can stay in front of houses and even become a nuisance on whole streets for several days.
Remember that we even pay, yet the waste dumpers only come at any time that only pleases them.
We simply don't appreciate the need to live in clean envt. Accra is no Millennium City. AMA is only interested in collecting taxes.

It will be cheaper to put a wall around these ghettos and let them live in it. Every community should be responsible for cleaning their neighborhood and stop depending on govt. to provide toilets and free garbage pick up.

The law was changed and the govt assumed full responsibility of keeping towns clean. And that marked the beginning of this mess. You'll men and women trading even selling food by refuse. They are almost always not concerned about the refuse at all.
The Zoomlions and the rest keeping bombarding the airwaves about their abilities of managing waste. MCEs, DCEs, regional ministers keep telling a lot lies about govt efforts in keeping us clean. Why?

I miss the old Town Council Men who went around giving out fines for such infractions. Ghana people, why do we have such bad behavior when it comes to keeping our environment clean? What is the city's plan in dealing with all this filth? Why after 57 years of independence we have not made one whit of progress towards taking good care of our living spaces? What is Ga Mantse doing about this current situation?

Sanitary inspectors used to patrol our towns and cities, issuing warrants to people whose surroundings were dirty. Why can't we re-institute such a measure. Somebody in authority must act NOW!
What at all are our city authorities doing? Somebody must act to clear this refuse.
