Okyeame Kwame hosts legendary Senegalese rapper Didier Awadi in Ghana for a collabo

Okyeame Kwame today welcomed legendary Senegalese rapper, Didier Awadi, to town. Awadi touched down in Accra before noon on Wednesday, ahead of some days of studio work.

He is to feature on one of Kwame’s songs for the upcoming “African Connection” album, which is also featuring artistes from Nigeria (J Martins), and Uganda and South Africa, among other countries. “I’m excited to be in Ghana to work with Okyeame Kwame,” says Awadi.

One of Africa’s most veteran rappers, Awadi works as a solo artist accompanied by his crew PBS Radikal.

He participates in the structuring of the musical sector in Senegal through his label, recording studio, and rehearsal space, Studio Sankara.

He offers a conscious and revolutionary music strengthened by articulated and rooted messages.

His motivation and inspiration stands in the Burkinabe revolutionary, Thomas Sankara’s phrase: “Let’s dare invent our future!”

The two rappers are expected to bring their experiences to bear on the song, which will be recorded by a top local producer.
