Brother go to Tema office and see things for your self,Kumasi is better,after reporting a tenant whose happened to lock his office and run away to rent control, who was Owen my mother 2 years of unpaid rent,the rent control made my mother paid 200Gh for a fee. After the police had opened the office, the National Director Mr.Dombo told me that they need to take every thing in the office to their warehouse so that an Auctioneer from the court would come to auction the things and pay my mother the unpaid rent of 4500Gh, the items they took includes lab tops, desk top computers,fridges,printers and very nice office furniture,I was shock to hear from rent control that the items they took were all rubbish, I was there to supervise the transfer of the goods to their warehouse,I saw the items. They took every thing without giving my mother any money. when we talk about corruption check the rent control out.

In Accra, near the Tema Station, they collect money from complainants, issue forms printed with Govt cash,OUR CASH, without giving any receipt. Rent Control offices are gold mine for the workers there. What a rotten country?

This is just a tip of the iceberg.even in Ho here,the story 's the same.But any case that proceeds to the Rent Magistrate in Ho is fairly dealt wt according to law.kudos to this judge

This rot is everywhere in Ghana, It has been going on ages upon ages, since Independence, so don`t think it is from to-day and I know you know it yourself. Go to Lands departments, where one land has been sold to ten people, still everybody has an indenture. All the Government institutions are corrupt. If any Government who come`s to power do not change our administration system, it will be like that till Thy Kingdom come. Maybe this man is one of those Ghost workers.

ALWAYS HAVE A WRITTEN LEASE!!!

Best thing to do is handle your business yourself. Dont trust those officials. Let them try to throw your stuff out and have the landlord arrested for theft.

Best thing to do is handle your business yourself. Dont trust those officials. Let them try to throw your stuff out and have the landlord arrested for theft.

For landlords with people who do not pay, put change the locks on the doors or put a lock OUTSIDE of their door. Technically if they are in arrears they just have to pay or leave. For the tenant who is being cheated, since they have their argument paper they still have the right to go into their house ( with or without the police).
