Sorry, your article is full of grammatical errors and very bad expressions so much so that it renders it difficult to understand your line of argument. I hope you will learn how to write in a simple, straightforward manner. You may have some great ideas, but I am sorry, badly and poorly articulated in this article. Did you want to say our Ministry of Foreign Affairs has lost its relevance and it is a glorified institution?

Yao, it's good you've taken Kawaanoopaado criticism in good faith. Honestly, I found your article very intriguing but sometimes a bit complex to understand. I thought it had to do with me and then I saw Kawaanopaado comment and realised it wasn't me alone. Clearly, you have what it takes to argue critically and bring out very relevant issues. Like you suggested yourself you need to let others proof read the articles. Every writer does that, it's normal.

Dear Kawaanopaado,
Though there are certain grammatical errors in Yao's article that need to be corrected, I would like you to be a little objective, by ignoring the minor grammatical errors, and instead, try to focus on the reasoning behind his article.
What the gentleman is trying to say is, Ghanaians have the capacity to solving our own problems without bowing to any foreigner with the so-called Foreign Direct Investment (FDI); had we had the integrity, the collective will, and the right policies in place to do so.
We, as a people, have failed ourselves at all levels! Our siblings at home have failed their beloved brothers and sisters in Diaspora; that has caused the Diasporans to give-up on their enterprenueurial spirit and instead decided to go into politics, while the ensuing Politicians have taken the easy road by selling the Nation on the cheap to the lowest foreign bidder with a 10% kickback.
Gentlemen, we need a well thought-out strategy to claim our Nation back from foreign domination, and that is what Yao is trying to arrive at. Please, don't turn the logic behind this important proposition into an O'Level English Class!
Thank you.

Policies can only deliver results with the right level of implementation. Today jobs in critical foreign missions are chosen based on the whims and caprices of the minister. No consideration is given to skills and competencies to deal with economic diplomacy. Some of the Ministers are not helping the President. 2016 is important and just down the road and Imurge ministers to pursue actions that will guarantee victory

FDI inflows into Ghana have already surpassed the billion dollar mark. The problem is not attracting more FDI but how we manage government's share of the FDI inflows. Most Ghanaians in the Diaspora do come home to buy land and build homes and other commercial properties. How effective is the governments revenue collection and or how those monies are effectively put to work for development? I bet most in the Diaspora pay bribes to revenue officers to avoid paying their fair share of taxes and or condone the corrupt and bribery scene in Ghana. It is the immoral character traits and practices of some Ghanaians in the Diaspora and of Ghanaian officials here at home that is the bottleneck why government cannot rob to pennies together. Resorting to begging for FDI is not a solution but solving our insatiable appetite for bribery and corruption will be key to our national success.

Hi Yao, Your message is good but take this friendly warning from me. Ghanaians in the diaspora are not prepare to come and invest in Ghana but only interested in becoming minister and MD's of already existing large companies. Just take a look at Kuffuor's government and you would have noticed that Taxi drivers ( eg. Hon Broni) were made ministers and most of the so called Ghanaian experts were made special assistants to ministers and were paid in hard currencies. A whisperer informed me that some were paid as much a five thousand US dollars. When you start your project you would have the MFA to thank. Bye

Yao, the idea behind your rather patriotic write up is very smart. The problem is with the very nature of the Ghanaian. I do suggest that in your own simple way, undertake a simple start-up project along the lines of your suggested blueprint and see how many will rush in as cookie-cutters and try to imitate you and cash in with your idea. I do agree with you. That is how great nations attained their greatness. Many examples abound. From our continent Ethiopians have popularised their cusine around the world. Philipinos train their nationals in nursing and export them overseas to work to earn foreign exchange for their countries. It does not always have to be the effort of lone Ghanaian who struggle to travel overseas to conquer the world to the benefit of his country. In the age of globalization I do support your idea of Government policy strategically in that direction to invest in its citizens in the diaspora in various areas as suggested in your article. Proactively and in a smart way government can support them to be successful in different skill acquisition and business start-ups
as govt. way of strategic policy move in the global market place of creating a new breed of Ghanaian business diaspora that will bring back their wealth in terms of cash or expertise to the motherland. There is a great need for Ghana to create our own Captains Of Industry and Commerce both at home and abroad where with the little push from government thru the Min Of Foriengn Affairs Citizens with dual citizenship overseas can take advantage of the opportunities in their new countries of citizenship to acquire all kinds of skills, and set up and operate all kinds of businesses successfully and the skills they acquire transferred for the benefit of Ghana. Good Luck. My Email:nana55buabeng@outlook.com Hope to hear from you.
