Of all the PhD holders in Ghana and the diaspora, what has PhD done for Ghana. Most of them (genuine or fake) end up in politics and steal from the state. Ghana equates PhD to success, very wrong indeed.

No need for Ghana government help. They should borrow from private banks to finance their education but not the Ghana government. It is a waste of time to even think about them. Leave them alone, they will find their own solutions to their problems.

MY EMPHASIS IS THE SMALLNESS OF THE SUBJECT THAT GETS YOU THE PhD. YOU MIGHT NEVER USE THAT THESIS IN YOUR EMPLOYMENT EXCEPT IF YOU TEACH BUT STILL IT IS A SMALL PART OF THE WHOLE SUBJECT. If PhD studies in the US produces the likes of Ahootan then NO THANKS. If it produces the likes of Kwame Nkrumah then you are VERY WELCOME! Otherwise PhD or not, I couldn't care less.

The bulwark of any Phd program is to develop critical and analytical thinkers,who would be able to relate theoretical framework with real life issues. I can bet my last $$$ that most people who genuinely worked hard in accredited institutions are highly sought after and have a place in shifting our paradigm of ignorance and scoff to a higher dimension of development. Dr Busia was one of the most brilliant scholars Ghana ever produced and go to the University of Ghana and find out about his output. Most of his social mitigation policies and intervention programs have been repackaged and now we have NHIS and Child Nutrition and Education Schemes. Stop your scoffing attitude and contribute constructively.

Is it due to financial issues or they could not get pass their Academic Review Board (ARB/IRB) request with their proposals-this is the tough stage in the dissertation process after the doctoral classes, level 700s or whatever level #. Most students cannot get into the All-But-the Dissertation(ABD) stage.

Your piece must be an appeal and not as though if they are not helped then ...
