Otumfuo can destool me, I’ll still campaign for Mahama - chief

The Chief of Mehame in the Brong Ahafo Region, Nana Kwame Owusu Kontoh says he will rally support for President Mahama even if it costs him his stool.

According to Nana Kontoh, although chiefs are prohibited from engaging in active political party activity, he ‘doesn’t care’ if his overlord Otumfuo Osei Tutu (pictured) destools him for openly declaring his support for a political party and its presidential candidate.

Speaking during a courtesy call on him by the President, Nana Kwame Owusu Kontoh said President Mahama was a “handsome man” who deserves to be President.

Nana Kontoh dismissed the NPP and its flag bearer’s flagship pledge of providing free Senior High School (SHS) if voted into power, saying it was just a ploy to win votes.

President John Dramani Mahama reiterated his party’s stance that Ghana was not ready to provide free SHS education because the necessary infrastructure was not available.
