Attorney-General Martin Amidu relieved of his post

Accra, Jan. 19, GNA - President John Evans Atta Mills has relieved the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Mr Martin A.B.K. Amidu, of his post.

A press release sighted by the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on Thursday said the President has written a letter to Mr Amidu on his decision.

The letter cited Mr Amidu's misconduct at a meeting presided over by President Mills last Friday, January 13.

It said Mr Amidu's behaviour at the meeting was "incompatible with acceptable standards" of a Minister and Appointee of the President.
