TELL ME WHAT'S WRONG

Sounds interesting on paper, but what exatly are we flooding other peoples' markets with? We have lost our pre-eminent position in cocoa production. Diamond is gone for all you care; in gold production we are now errand boys for Australian and South African companies, which are devastating our farmlands with open pit mining. If we cannot even produce our staple foods to feed ourelves, what are we selling to others?

All we are doing is selling what others produce so they can continue to produce and sell more to us. And the only reason why many people are able to buy is that their relatives abroad continue to send remittances, lest they starve. What industrial skills are we learning from selling other people's produce? What future is there in this kind of economy? Does it require a PhD in eeconomics to realise that Ghana's economy as structured today is not going anywhere?
Good day and God bless.
Kobby
