You’ll be dead and forgotten in 120 years time; Enjoy and do what makes you happy

Have you considered the mortality of our species recently and also the fact that the lapse of time would make you forgotten, one day?

120 years from today, all of us will be dead and gone—and 10,000 years from today, people wouldn’t even know we once existed. Of course, unless you are Patapaa or a distinguished freedom fighter.

Despite the above, many of us continue to live this single life we have as if we will be here forever. We extremely cautious and worry so much about certain things to the extent that we do not really live the life we wish for.

We are alive, yet have become dreamers in a perpetual loop of wishes. I wish, I wish. Why don’t you stop wishing and actually make things happen?

A lot of us are not living—we are merely existing. Still, some think we are on this planet to go to school, after that work until we are 65 and wrinkled, and then die. If this is life, then it’s not worth it.

The above is social conditioning and many cannot break away from the designed pattern.

When I tell people I want to retire at 40 years and just live a life of global culture exploration—they get shocked and suggest that I will somewhat become bored when I am not working. That’s social conditioning talking.

You have just this life and yet you cannot live it on your own terms, take all the risk and boldly dive into the consequences of your actions and omissions. That’s beyond sad, it’s pathetic.

I want to do the things I really want to do. Perhaps, I am already living that dreamed life already.

As Mark Twain brilliantly captures it: “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”

Be bold, enjoy the moments and don’t let the quest for money rob you of your time. Romance is equally important—so follow the steam of your heart and let it flow with the zeitgeist of your 21st-century persona which should expectedly be embellished in FREEDOM.

You have to consciously make it a duty to live, or else, you will look back and regret what you made out of your limited time here.
