Was NDC mansion funded by drug cartels? NPP asks

Central Regional Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwamena Duncan, is urging the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) to as a matter of urgency reveal the source of funding for its new party office in wake of the recent cocaine scandal.

According to him, the party’s loud silence on the funding gives more credence to speculations that the estimated $20 million mansion located at Adabraka in Accra was funded by drug cartels.

Leadership of the NDC are tight lipped on the issues but disclosures some national executives has made the issue murkier.

National Organizer, Yaw Boateng Gyan when pushed to the wall on Asempa FM revealed that some unknown business men built it as a gift to the party. On the same station, Deputy General Secretary, Kofi Adams said it was a lease.

Speaking on Peace FM’s morning show, Kokrookoo Wednesday, Kwame Duncan said it is politically suicidal for the NDC to keep mute following the arrest of Nayele Ametefeh allegedly linked to kingpins in government.

He could not fathom why the funding for the ultramodern office complex is being shrouded in secrecy.

The NPP man intimated that government officials who have all of a sudden become the official spokespersons of the ‘cocaine girl’ give credibility to the rumours making rounds about its involvement.

Kwamena Duncan urged the NDC to come clean on the source of funding for the ultra-modern office and exonerate themselves from the infamous Nayele Ametefeh cocaine scandal.
