Trial of Afia Schwarzenegger's husband fails to come off

Lawrence Abrokwah, the husband of TV host Valentina Nana Agyeiwaa, popularly known as Afia Schwarzenegger, has seen his trial postponed after investigators failed to forward the case docket to the court on time.

Mr Abrokwah was initially scheduled to appear before the Domestic Violence Court at Ministries in Accra on Monday, September 11, 2017, to be trialed on charges of abuse.

However, there was a no show after investigators delayed the process in forwarding the case docket to the court's registry.

The accused has been in a collision with wife, Afia Schwarzenegger, in recent times, after reportedly catching her red handed engaging in an amorous act with another man.

Within some short hours, the issue immediately gained prominence in the media, with several photos and videos (naked) of the comedienne flooding social after they were leaked.

Despite sounding unconcerned in a video which was later released on social media, Afia Schwarzenegger went ahead to sue her husband for assault, publication of indecent material and threat of harm.

Last Friday both Afia and Abrokwah were at the police station to give their statements, after which the latter granted an interview to Kofi TV denying allegations of leaking his wife's video.

He, however, admitted to recording the act and threatening to disfigure her face with acid but was quick to add that the substance he was holding was just water and nothing harmful.

He added that his threats were empty, saying his only motive was to be able to record the cheating habits of his wife for evidence sake.

It is currently unknown when Abrokwah's trial will come off after it was postponed from its original September 11 date.
