Sammy Gyamfi challenges NPP over ‘doctored’ Ofosu Ampofo tape

Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress [NDC], Sammy Gyamfi, has challenged the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to prove that an audio recording purported to be the voice of his party Chairman, Mr Ofosu-Ampofo has not been doctored.

He insists that portions of the audio have been altered and made impure – “I can tell you that 80% of the voice is fake”.

The NDC is planning to unleash attacks on key personalities in Ghana including the EC Chairperson, Jean Mensa and the National Peace Council boss, a leaked tape purpoted to be coming from Mr Ampofo has revealed.

Mr Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo is alleged to have made the threat in a meeting with his party’s communicators, a meeting at which he was also alleged to have said: “we’re going to take her [EC boss] to the cleaners.”

However, the NPP wants the opposition NDC to oust its current leadership after the leaked audio confirmed its use of party militias.

Following the emergence of the tape, the NPP Communications Director, Yaw Buabeng Asamoah, urged the rank and file of the NDC to ensure the “shameful leadership” is removed “so they restore their moral right to partake in the politics of the country.

But Mr Gyamfi who believes the NPP are ‘experienced’ in determining a doctored tape must come out and prove if indeed his party Chairman’s tape is not doctored.

“You keep saying the tape is not doctored and that it is real. The NPP should come out and explain to us that indeed the tape has not been doctored. They are experts and so they should come out and tell us. I dare them,” he said on Accra based Okay FM monitored by
