Rotary E-Club of One World celebrates 7th anniversary, officially inducts new member in Ghana

Rotary E-Club of One World D5240 California, is an electronic Rotary club that allows members to interact and attend meetings online whilst it affords traditional rotary club members the opportunity to attend makeup meeting online at one’s own convenience.

The club President, Mrs. Amina Sammo, at an event to mark the 7th anniversary of the club on May 29, 2019 also inducted a new member residing in Ghana into the club.

Mr. Abdul Basit Abdul Rahman, the new member of the club is an Executive Officer at the Ministry of Inner-City and Zongo Development (MICZD) and a student of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).

The Rotary E-Club of One World, which was chartered on May 29, 2012 currently has sixty-four members ‘Serving above self’ on six continents. Four of whom reside in Accra, Ghana.

The club under the stewardship of its Board of Directors is especially focused on the Fourth Object of Rotary which reads: “The advancement of international understanding, goodwill and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.”

The mission of Rotary International is to support its member clubs in fulfilling the objects of Rotary.

Speaking at the induction ceremony the current President of the club Mrs. Amina Sammo and Director of Social Services at the Ministry of Inner-City and Zongo Development assisted by the Member of Parliament (MP) for Mpraeso in the Eastern Region, Hon. Seth Kwame Acheampong (also a Rotarian) said the minimum expectation from every Rotarian are weekly meeting attendance, payment of due and more importantly abiding by the Rotary Four-Way Test of the things we think, say or do.

1. Is the truth?

2. Is it fair to all concerned?

3. Will it build goodwill and better friendships? and

4. Will it be beneficial to all concerned?

According to her, the club has four objects which include fostering unity among member clubs; Strengthening and expanding Rotary around the world by communicating worldwide the work of Rotary and further providing a system of international administration.

She explained that the core values of the club is to provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders.

The Rotary core values include service, fellowship, diversity, integrity and leaders she told Abdul Basit Abdul Rahman inducting him into the association.
