Ghana goalkeeper Richard Ofori has cast his eye on cementing a regular spot in the Black Stars after making his debut for the team in the Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.
Ofori, who helped Wa All Stars to win their first premier league last season was handed his maiden appearance in the Black Stars in the third-place 1-0 defeat to Burkina Faso.

Though Ghana lost the game, the 22-year-old won many admirers with his display on the day, and this has prompted him to declare his intention of keeping the post on a regular basis.

Speaking on Metro TV, “I am very happy, this is my first appearance for the team, I have been with the team for some time now but this is the first time I got the opportunity to be in the post.”

“I think I did well, although I didn’t want to concede but it is part of the game, I just need to improve myself and correct my mistake.”

“I’m ready, every ready, anytime am told to be in post I will always give my best. I am ready for the number one position.

“I think I have learnt a lot since I joined to the national team. I have learnt so many things from my seniors.”

The former Ghana U20 goalkeeper was the only local-based player in the Black Stars team for the Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.
