Regent University College in Sunyani

Regent University College, a leading private university in collaboration with the
Christian Leadership Institute, (CLI) the leading training center for pastors and
other corporate executives in the Brong-Ahafo region, would be holding a five day
intensive leadership school for church leaders in Sunyani in July.
The training programme is also open to Senior High School and College of Education
graduates as well as and mature students who wish to access quality university
education.
The training school which starts on July 4 and ends on July 8, is primarily targeted
at pastors, elders, deacons, women leaders and all church departmental heads.
A three- man high power delegation from the Regent University College is billed to
partner the team at Christian Leadership Institute, the host institution to roll out
the training programme.
The delegation which would be led by Dr. Justice Appiah Kubi, H.o.D. (Divinity
Department), Rev. Isaac Amoah, a Teaching Assistant at the Divinity Department and
Rev. Richard Ofori Kyere, the Chaplaincy Assistant at the Trinity campus of the
University and Coordinator for the training programme.
Briefing Space FM , Rev. Isaac Amoah said the training programme would serve as a
platform for the university to introduce courses it intends running for pastors,
church leaders and prospective candidates who wish to gain university education
particularly in theology.
He added that participants in the training programme who register for the
university’s subsequent training programmes would be tailor-tutored to meet entry
requirements for diploma and degree courses in the university.
"After this maiden training programme, those who register for the university’s
subsequent training programmes, stand the chance of receiving lessons that would
enable them gain entry to do diploma and degree courses in the university after
passing an entry exam", he said.
The Coordinator for the training school, Rev. Richard Ofori Kyere, who was the
former Dean of students of the Christian Leadership Institute, noted that the
programme which would become a regular event, depending on the success of the maiden
edition, would treat subjects including, Pastoral Ministry, Role of Pastoral
Leadership in contemporary times, the Concept of Church Leadership, the Ministry of
Elders, the Ministry of Deacons, Interpersonal Relations and People Management, The
Effective Women’s Leader, Communication Skills, Public Speaking skills, and
Ministerial Ethics.
Rev. Ofori Kyere added that certificates of participation and materials would be
provided for participants and encouraged all desirous of quality university
education to take advantage of the training programme.
"I encourage any one who desires quality university education to participate in the
training school to enable them gain access to the Regent University", he said.
He said the Regent University desires to bring quality, affordable, holistic
university education to the doorstep of every one who qualifies.
The General Overseer of the Living Grace Ministries and Executive Director of the
Christian Leadership Institute, Bishop Richard Owusu Akyeaw, pointed out that such
training programmes would go a long way to enhance the knowledge and skills of
participants and asked women leaders in particular to patronize the school.
