Reflections of our potential, strength, ....

willpower or heart desire

Ever since the Party's lost the Election Petition, looking at the trend of events in the country, it has become a very tear-jerking experience for most Ghanaians, self included.

When Nana Akufo Addo announced he would not be contesting the Supreme Court verdict after eight months, there was a pervasive, prickling silence in his demeanor. Up to this or that time, he had been branded a war-monger and a litigant, a rabble-rouser, arrogant and spiteful within the NPP and our Political Opponent.

Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they were meant to be there, to serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson, or to help figure out whom you are or who you want to become. You never know who these people may be, but when you lock eyes with them, you know at that very moment they will affect your life in some profound way.

I've learned in life to face challenges head on. We know very well that sometimes things happen to you that may seem horrible, painful, and unfair at first, but in reflection you find without overcoming those obstacles you would have never realized your potential, strength, willpower or heart. There is always something unknown to our carnal mind.

When the recent past General Secretary Owusu Afriyie stated it was needless to go through the process to elect Presidential Candidate, most political pundits and analysts called for his removal. He was seen as opportunist and manner of unsavory comments were made about him and Nana Addo.

In life, everything happens for a reason. Nothing happens by chance or by means of good luck. Illness, injury, love, lost moments of true greatness and sheer stupidity all occur to test the limits of your animating and vital principle in humans which deals with the faculties of thought, action, and emotion. Without these small tests, whatever they may be, life would be like a smoothly paved, straight, flat road to nowhere. It would be safe and comfortable, but dull and pointless.

Nana Addo and Sir John must take consolation and understand that, the people you meet who affect your life and the success and downfalls you experience, has helped to create who you are and who you become. Even the bad experiences can be learned from. In fact, they are probably the most upsetting, moving, touching, emotional, distressing, heartbreaking and affecting, on the other hand, they are really important.

If someone hurts you, betrays you, or breaks your heart, forgive them, for they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious when you open your heart.

If someone loves you, love them back unconditionally, not only because they love you, but because in a way, they are teaching you to love and how to open your heart and eyes to things.

Make every day count. Appreciate every moment and take from those moments everything that you possibly can, for you may never be able to experience it again.

Talk to people you had never talked to before, and actually listen. There could not be any convincing statement, than what you told the delegates in Ho.

“We can’t win if we cut each other into pieces. It’s not possible.”

“We will not agree about everything inside the NPP. We are not robots. We cannot agree about everything; even about the leadership but we can agree about the objectives and the values and the principles of the NPP” to govern the country.

That's the spirit. Let yourself fall in love, break free, and set your sights high. Hold your head up because you have every right to.

Tell yourself you are a great individual and believe in yourself, for if you don't, who will. You can make of your life anything you wish.

Create your own life and then go out and live it with absolutely no regrets. Most importantly, if you love someone, tell him or her, for you never know what tomorrow may have in store. Learn a lesson in life each day that you live.

Always, always, remember that, the positivity in our life is a function of our thinking. So think positive, stay positive!
