The Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Richard Ahiagbah, has urged Ghanaians not to vote for the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), former President John Dramani Mahama, in the upcoming 2024 presidential elections.
According to him, the former president is the only president in the 4th Republic to have lost his bid for a second term due to his poor performance.
He stated that Ghanaians should not be deceived because the former president was the same person who brought untold hardship to the country, and this would be repeated if he were to come to power again.
“H.E. John Mahama was a one-term president because he was incompetent and brought untold hardship to Ghanaians. As a result of that incompetence, Ghanaians sent him home in 2016.
“So, let's not be tricked by Mahama's 2024 rebranding; he is the same old tried-and-failed Mahama. He was bad news for Ghana then, and he will be bad news for Ghana now,” he wrote in a post shared on X, on Saturday, May 18, 2024.
The NPP Communications Director went on to admonish Ghanaian voters to choose the flagbearer of his party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, because he is the only person who would be able to find solutions to the country’s problems.
“Bawumia is the future. Bawumia is capable and would catalyse Ghana's next chapter with bold solutions.”
