On arrival on the hospital’s premises, Mrs Akufo-Addo first visited the wards where she interacted with some staff, as well as the children on admission and their parents.

The First Lady said while she was touched by the situation of the children who were suffering ailments, she was impressed by the bravery they were showing, going through treatment. She prayed with them and wished them speedy recovery.

Good parenting

Mrs Akufo-Addo asked the children to be cheerful and enjoy the festive season as they were in capable hands at the hospital.

She called on parents to set good examples for their children to emulate.

She also expressed her gratitude to the management, staff, board and the many sponsors of the hospital for the hard work and diverse contributions they continue to make to enable the facility discharge its responsibilities to patients.

Parental neglect

Reverend Father Andrew Campbell, the Board Chairman of the hospital, in a remark, said a lot of children were facing divers predicaments because of parental neglect.

He, therefore, called on parents to use the festive season to spend quality time with their children at home.
