Pressure group OccupyGhana wants Ghanaians to turn to God for help in retrieving the judgement debt paid to businessman Alfred Agbesi Woyome.
The group is asking Ghanaians to pray to God “to guide our Attorney General and to give her wisdom to be able to retrieve the money”.
The group, in a statement on Thursday, charged Ghanaians to demand the immediate institution and publication of settlement terms to facilitate retrieval of the Ghc51.2 million paid to Alfred Woyome as judgement debt.
To this end, the group is also asking Ghanaians to pray to God “to let Alfred Agbesi Woyome do what is right by returning the money”.
Occupy Ghana believes the money paid to Woyome could have been used to develop other sectors of the economy, hence their call.
“It is not the biggest issue that we are having but we believe that that is one of the low hanging fruits that we can easily recover. If you look at the number of schools under trees, the number of hospitals the length of roads basic infrastructure that amount of money can do for Ghana. We believe that we need to add our voice to put pressure on the powers that be to do all that is possible to retrieve that money,” a leading member of the group, George Andah told Citi News.
