Police Investigators in the Upper West Region have confirmed the death of Mr. Poulabong Bayiilela Richard, National Democratic Congress (NDC) chairman for the Dafiama Bussie Issa Constituency detailing how it all happened.

According to them, at about 10:30 Pm on Wednesday one Desmond Atingani was driving a Mercedes-Benz car with registration number GW 3366 Y from Kojokperi to Wa with four persons including the deceased on board.

They revealed that the car was intercepted by four robbers but the driver failed to stop leading to the bandit’s shooting and killing Richard Bayiviella aged 45 who was seated beside the driver.

The driver sustained gunshot wounds and was admitted at Upper West Regional hospital for treatment while the body of the deceased was deposited at the morgue for preservation pending autopsy.

Meanwhile, some party sources including the deputy director of elections in the region Osman Seidu are suspecting foul play in his death since he hails from the same constituency with the Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

“The NPP regional chairman is from that constituency and they are working very hard to take that constituency,” Seidu is quoted to have told dailymailgh.com that first broke the story.
