P/NDC-ing “Tribal” Politics: The Lies of Martin Amidu

Sunyani (B/A) Sept. 3, GNA - Mr. Martin Amidu, Minister of the Interior on
Thursday charged recruitment into the country's security services must not be
based on any form of favouritism and partisan considerations. He was accompanied
by Alhaji Salifu Osman, acting chief director of the ministry, Professor Claver
Nyathi, Chief Governance Adviser, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in
Ghana, Mr. Francis Azuimah, Peace and Governance Programme Officer, UNDP also in
Ghana, Mr. Mumuni Abdulai Bawumia, Director, Peace Desk at the MoI and Mr. Kudjo
Dabri, Public Affairs Director of the Ministry (Ghanaweb, September 3, 2010)

With armories of lies
Oh! Atta Mills’ NDC
They milk poverty
Their metaphor of power
Vultures in our midst
Political scavengers
Educated thieves
Elitist hypocrites
Enslaving the masses
Frying their brains
The minds of the masses
Our archives of trauma

Martin Amidu smiles
Tells us all is well in Ghana
No “tribalism”
No favoritism
No nepotism
No patriarchy
Our armed forces are not “tribalized”

Blind Mills can’t see his officials
Deaf Mills can’t hear his officials
Mills can only smell
Smells officials wear kinship odor

And Rawlings is laughing
All the way to firing “tribalism”
From Ridge to Alavanyo
Never calls Mills’ tribalism into question
But JJ Rawlings
Foams at the mouth against Mills
JJ has patented it all
All the derogatory anti-Millsims
Mills is a thief
Mills is slow
Mills is a snail
Mills is incompetent
Mills the son of Who born rabid dogs
Mills the mortuary Atta man
Mills is a political parvenu
Mills is a sick man
But Mills’ politics is not “tribalism”

JJ loves it all
He loves Mills’ tribalism
His kin-groups at the helm of affairs
The fulfillment of Awonoor’s prophecy
That one day Akans would be no more

Truth be told
Army has no Akans
Navy has no Akans
Air Force has no Akans

So let us all go
Go to the Castle
Non-Akans reign

Go to all boards
Non-Akans reign

Go to the Ministries
Non-Akans reign

Go to Customs
Non-Akans reign

Go to Kotoka
Kotaka’s kinspeople reign

Mills has given all to non-Akans

Hypocrites
Killers of the dream
Elitist predators
The Amidus among us
Walk with their kinsmen
Struts the stage with their kind
Yet talk about equal opportunity
Yet claims all is well in Ghana
