P.C. Appiah-Ofori Is A “Functional Illiterate” And A Stooge.

By the pronouncements of P.C. Appiah-Ofori, he has increasingly demonstrated that he is a “FUNCTIONAL ILLITERATE AND A SENSELESS STOOGE” in the Nana Akuffo Addo’s campaign team. He is actually a disgrace to himself, the family, the NPP party, the Honourable House of Parliament and Society at large.

With reference to a news item carried by Ghanaweb on September 9th, 2010, he described the Omanhene of Ogua Traditional Area, Osabarima Kwesi Atta 11 as useless or worthless for failing to acknowledge the presence of Nana Akuffo Addo during the Fetu Afahyie festival. If a man at his age could behave in such a reckless manner, I wonder what the future holds for the young ones. By insulting the Chief, he has insulted the people of Ogua Traditional Area because our Traditional Leaders represent the embodiment of our identity, dignity, values, culture and traditions.

Before I proceed further, I wish to explain what I meant by ‘FUNCTIONAL ILLITERATE’. Functional illiterates are those that are unable to blend the knowledge acquired with common-sense and wisdom and therefore, when they talk, one would think “they have their heads under them”.

Members of the Legislature are supposed to display some sort of decency or decorum when dealing with issues, especially those that can potentially ignite tension and that is why we refer to them as ‘honourables’. The problem we have in our part of the world is that, electing people to positions of trust is not about competence, values, integrity, but it is rather about the “HIGHEST BIDDER”. What do we see at the end? We see IMBECILES, MISCREANTS AND VAGABONDS like P.C. Appiah-Ofori elected as Members of Parliament. What good can we possibly get from such characters? Display of stupidity at the highest order is what we get from them.

In that same news item P.C. described himself as a hero of the area. He has still not got it. Has he? If you ask me, the best description that can be given to him is “EKURASI S.K. or “EKURASI CHAMPION, better still EKURASI P.C.”. Was the “ EKURASI P.C.” expecting the Traditional Leader to carry Nana Akuffo Addo on his shoulders? Is Nana Akuffo Addo better than the other Political Leaders who were present at the function? Such impudence!
