Open letter to Member of Parliament for Dormaa Central Constituency

Mr Kwaku Agyeman-Manu Mr Kwaku Agyeman-Manu

Dear sir,

I write on behalf of your people to convey our heartfelt gratitude to you for your continuous demonstration of love to us. Sir, little did we expect that at the time when the Coronavirus is wreaking havoc in the world, and senior ministers of state like you are hell-bent to contain it, you will actually have the peace of mind to remember us over here. This is a clear testimony of the profound love you have for your people.

In fact, we were overwhelmed by your donation of one Veronica bucket, one packet of hand sanitizer and three sets of PPE's to the Ghana Health Service. No amount of words will be enough to describe our feeling. Honourable, we are indeed grateful.

Also worthy of mention is the ceremony that heralded the donation. The fanfare was eye-catching. The people sang your praises and danced their hearts out. We did this to demonstrate our love to you and to assure you that you have no competitor in the impending parliamentary primaries.

Honourable, the media also played their part perfectly. They were well represented and captured every moment of the ceremony from the beginning to the end. Pictures were taken and recordings were made; both audio and video. Peace FM reported the story in its six o'clock news bulletin. Sir, we have achieved our purpose.

As usual sir, the 'skin pain people' are trying to water down your generosity. They say they do not understand why the donation was made in your house. Some even say that your donation of one Veronica bucket, three sets of PPE'S and a packet of hand sanitizers was only meant for the cameras. Whatever is said, we do not care.

If they are worried about how to distribute the items, I suggest that the 3 sets of PPE's be given to 3 health workers who are known to support your course. For the Veronica bucket, we can place it at the Dormaa central market, fill it with water, put the hand sanitizers by it so that we the constituents will line up, wash our hands and use the sanitizers. With that everybody would have benefited from your gesture. That is the essence of communal life. After all, one Veronica bucket donated by a minister is worth more than 10, 000 donated by Zoomlion.

Once again, we say thank you. But like the proverbial Oliver Twist, we ask for more. Next time increase the number of the Veronica buckets to 3 so that we can place two at the outskirts and one at the lorry station.

Honourable, we are most grateful.

Yours faithfully,

The Common Man.
