Broadcast journalist Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah has alleged that the government is using his ex-girlfriend as a pawn in what he describes as a politically motivated arrest.
Speaking publicly for the first time since the incident, Afrifa-Mensah disclosed that he was picked up by the Cyber Crime Unit over allegations of "sextortion."
According to him, the complaint came from his ex-girlfriend, Anne Sansa Daly, who claimed he possessed her nude images and was threatening to leak them online. He, however, insists the allegations were fabricated and politically orchestrated.
“I was told that Andeli reported me, claiming I have her nudes and that I’m blackmailing her with them. I asked them to show me the evidence. They took me to my house, searched the place, took what they wanted, and said they were going to investigate me,” he recounted.
Afrifa-Mensah, who described the relationship as having ended six years ago, claimed that Anne edited their past conversations to support her narrative before presenting them to authorities.
“She edited the messages I shared with her to make it look as though I was saying I had her nude videos,” he alleged.
He further hinted that there might be more at play, suggesting a coordinated attempt to silence him due to his political commentary.
“I’ve picked up intel that there's a dossier on her. So, she should be careful. This isn’t just about an old relationship—this is political,” he said.
