Northern Police chases Savelugu killers

The Northern Regional Police command has mounted a search for the perpetrators of recent killings in the area.

Two persons were recently murdered in the Tamale metropolis whilst another 20-year-old Zakariah Adams was shot dead by unknown assailants in the Savelugu district on Tuesday March 25, 2014.

The police confirmed that the deceased was killed at about 11:30 pm and his remains were deposited at the Savelugu district hospital morgue.

The police administration has offered GHC10,000 to whoever will volunteer information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators of such heinous crimes.

Public Relations Officer of the Northern Regional Police Command, ASP Ebenezer Tetteh, told Citi News those found culpable would not be spared.

“So far the body is still in the morgue awaiting autopsy so that it will be released to the family to be buried in accordance with the Islamic tradition,” he added.

He continued: “Meanwhile we have started investigations into the matter and we are asking people to volunteer information and anybody who is willing to assist us by way of vital information that will lead to the arrest of any of the perpetrators and a successful prosecution in court we are going to give an amount of ten thousand Ghana Cedis to such a person.”

He added: “We are assuring the informants that we will do everything possible within our limit to protect their identity.”
