New Pope John court to host UPAC Opener

Pope John Senior High School and Junior Seminary will host the opening games in the 2018 UPAC Basketball Championship.
The high school’s new court which was recently unveiled during Pope John’s 60th Anniversary celebrations will host four tertiary institutions on Saturday March 3.

Pope John’s new edifice provides a fitting setting to commence the fifth edition of Ghana’s most prestigious tertiary basketball competition.

All Nations University College, Koforidua Technical University, Presbyterian University College and Ho Technical University have been drawn in the Eastern Region’s Zone A.

The group winner qualifies to the national event to be held in Ghana’s capital, Accra in April joining seven zonal winners to compete for the ultimate crown.

All Nations roll into the upcoming zonal games as defending champions after shocking the field in 2017 to make a national appearance.

After featuring in preliminary games held in Accra zones, Ho Technical has been moved to Eastern Zone for this year’s competition.

32 teams representing 32 institutions will compete in the 2018 UPAC Championship.
