Nayele Jailed: Lying Spree To Implicate the NDC Govt Underway

That Ruby Adu-Gyamfi, a.k.a Ruby Appiah, alias Nayele Ametefeh was sentenced yesterday to an 8yr and 8months prison term is no news.

Having pleaded guilty already to charges of drug possession and trafficking, what everybody was waiting to hear was the number of years she will have to spend in prison. But whether it will be a couple of years or two decades did not really matter. What many had their ears corked out for is the fallouts of her last day in court.

The fallout came and as expected, it is a concoction of well packaged lies meant to foist the drug scandal on the NDC government, an NPP project which has failed several times again since the scandal broke out.

This time, the lies were packaged a bit more craftily. 'Joy FM' and its online portal, myjoyonline.com who were all at the fore-front by a section of the media to foist the drug scandal on the NDC government from the very day the scandal broke out claim in their reportage that Nayele's lawyer told the judge before she was sentenced that she "came into contact with powerful politicians in 2004 and her life changed dramatically" ...and that "she has remained connected to powerful politicians who are currently in government."

In another story carried by Joy FM and myjoyonline, it is claimed that Nayele refused to name those who were behind the cocaine because if she did, her three children's lives will be in danger.

If it is true that she has decided to keep quiet to ensure her children's safety, why will she then have her lawyer say in court that she is connected to people in the current government since that can still endanger the children's lives?

Secondly, how does telling the court that Nayele got introduced to drugs in 2004 through powerful politicians and that she is connected to politicians in the current government mitigate serve as a mitigating factor to convince the judge to deal leniently with her?

Clearly, the claim that the busted cocaine woman talked about being linked to people in government was fabricated to once more attempt to foist the drug scandal on the NDC government. To make this lie believable, it was first said she got introduced into the illicit drugs trade by powerful politicians at in 2004. Powerful politicians in 2004 will lead to people pointing accusing fingers at NPP politicians since the party was in government then. But that surely will not hurt the NPP's image since the party is already riddled with drug scandals, the reason why activists of the party are desperate to have the NDC also smeared with drugs. Thus, the claim of how Nayele was introduced was made just to authenticate the lie that she has connections to people in the current government.

The attempts to foist this cocaine scandal on the NDC started almost a week after the arrest of Nayele at Heathrow for trafficking 12.5kg of cocaine into England. The lies churned out were as follows;

(i) An entire story was cooked up about the involvement of government officials in this scandal. The story was attributed to an online media house named 'West African online'. It appeared on the facebook walls of NPP activists. As it turned out, 'West African online does not exist'.

(ii) The cooked story was accompanied by a picture of innocent NDC activist, Francisca Adjei, standing by a JM branded car. She was said to be the woman who had trafficked the cocaine. This was to make Ghanaians believe Nayele was an NDC member who had close links with the First Family. The story appeared on the facebook alls of NPP activists. As it turned out, Francisca was not Nayele. She was an innocent supporter of the NDC who campaigned for the party in the 2012 elections. Period!

(iii) The NPP media, still wanting their lies to be believed, published a story they culled from an Austrian newspaper, Kronen Zeitung'. They claimed that according to the newspaper, Nayele was caught with a Ghanaian diplomatic passport. As it turned out, the Austrian newspaper was rather quoting the claims by some Ghanaian media houses, including Citi FM, who had claimed Nayele made the fateful journey to London with a diplomatic passport.

(iv) It was claimed again, later on, that at Nayele's first court appearance, the prosecutor told the judge that Nayele had a diplomatic passport. That report turned out to be false.

(v) Another story appeared on the facebook walls of NPP activists claiming that a newspaper in England, 'Heathrow News', had revealed that Nayele travelled on a diplomatic passport. As it turned out, there is no newspaper in England called 'Heathrow News'.

(vi) Another story appeared on the facebook pages of NPP activists alleging Nayele has finally confirmed travelling on a diplomatic passport. The story was sourced to a magazine called Airport International. As it turned out, Airport International never published any news item on Nayele.

(vii) A picture of Nayele standing in front of a private jet appeared on the facebook wall of known NPP activists. They claimed the plane belonged to Ibrahim Mahama, a sure-sign that there was a link between the President's brother and Nayele. As it turned out, the plane they put up on their facebook walls was a Gulf Stream G6000. The President's brother's private jet is Bombardier 604.

Having failed at foisting the Nayele cocaine scandal on the NDC, a last desperate attempt is being made through the claim that she revealed he had links with politicians in the current government. This claim flies in the face of logic and common sense because of the earlier claim that she has decided to keep quiet to protect her children aged 16, 13 and 11respectively.

Obviously, the claim is being made because Nayele is going to jail and will have no opportunity to even deny it. The desperation by the NPP to have the NDC equal their drug records is reaching dizzy heights.
