NPP mourns Theresa Amerley Tagoe

The General Secretary for the Greater Accra Regional branch of the New Patriotic Party, Adjei Sowah says the death of Mrs Theresa Amerley Tagoe is a great loss to the party.

The Former Member of Parliament for Ablekuma South constituency in the Greater Accra Region and a staunch member of the New Patriotic Party Theresa Ameley Tagoe, was reported dead on Friday November 26, after a protracted illness.

Confirming the news on the Citi Breakfast Show on Friday, a family source said her sad demise occured on the evening of Thursday, November 25.

Mrs Theresa Tagoe was also the deputy Greater Accra Regional Minister and deputy Minister of Lands, Forestry & Mines under the erstwhile Kufuor administration.

The late Theresa Amerley Tagoe was also one time national women’s organizer of the New Patriotic Party.

The women’s organizer of the Greater Accra Regional branch of the NPP, Joyce Zinmpare, in an interview told Citi News that the women of the NPP will dearly miss the late Theresa Ameley Tagoe.

Meanwhile, Member of Parliament for the Ablekuma South constituency and NDC member, Fritz Baffuor who succeeded Mrs Amerley Tagoe in the 2008 parliamentary elections told Citi News that her death is a great loss to the NPP and the people of Ablekuma South.

He added that Mrs Tagoe laid a great foundation for him to build on. According to Hon. Fritz Baffour, Mrs Tagoe was more of a mother figure to most people in the constituency.
