Man arrested for car snatching

The Awutu Breku Police in the Central Region have arrested a 37-year-old man for allegedly snatching a car from a taxi driver.

The taxi driver, Ebenezer Ampofo narrating his ordeal to Adom News’ Kofi Adjei said the suspect, Philip Atakpa hired the taxi from Gomoa Potsin en route to another town.

On their way back to Gomoa Potsin Monday evening, he said the suspect suddenly, pulled out an enamel from a polythene bag sprayed a substance suspected to be pepper spray directly into his face in an attempt to snatch the taxi with registration number GW 8800-14 from the driver.

However, luck eluded Philip Atakpa when good Samaritans went to the rescue of the victim.

The suspect was arrested by some residents who heard the distress cry of the victim and went to his rescue.

The suspect is currently in the custody of the Awutu Breku Police assisting with investigations.
