Mahama’s youth jobs enterprises fund is scam

Dr. Sekou Nkrumah, the last son of Ghana’s First president Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and a leading member of the National Democratic Congress has described the yet to be launched Youth jobs enterprises fund as another scam by Ghanaian politicians to deceive the millions of Ghanaian youth.
The outspoken politician said the current crop of politicians have no genuine commitment to seek the welfare of the youth.
Dr. Nkrumah was commenting on the announcement by President John Dramani Mahama at the United Nations General Assembly, of his government’s vision to uplift Ghanaian youth from economic doldrums hence a new initiative called Youth Jobs Enterprises Fund soon to be launched. According to the president the policy initiative is to enable young Ghanaians with entrepreneurial abilities to access funds to establish their own businesses.
But speaking on Pluzz Today on Pluzz 89.9fm hosted by Kwame Tutu, Dr. Nkrumah a known critic of “fruitless policies” noted that the announcement by the President is only a public relations gimmick which has no good intention to help the youth as stated.
Dr. Nkrumah further disclosed that huge sums of money are always allocated for such “mirage initiatives” but end up in the pockets of politicians. The youth are only seen by politicians as a large political constituency that are used and dumped by politicians across all political spheres, Dr. Nkrumah intimated.
He described the youth polity document launched by the NDC administration in 2010 as a “bogus” document. He explained that the policy has no working document attached, to give it timelines so it could be assessed.
Dr. Nkrumah therefore charged politicians to desist from toying with the lives of the youth and find committed, genuine and proper ways of addressing the myriad of problems confronting the youth.
