La-Mangoase appeals to Feeder Roads to rehabilitate roads

Coaltar (E/R), June 12, GNA- Ataa Sowah, Chairman of the Tomato Growers Association of La-Mangoase near Coaltar in the Suhum Kraboa Coaltar District on Tuesday appealed to the Department of Feeder Roads to re-gravel the 13-kilometre road linking Okonkwanta to La-Mangoase. The road he said would facilitate the transportation of their farming produce to the marketing centres such as Suhum, Asamankese and Nsawam.

Ataa Sowah made the appeal at a general meeting with over 200 members of the Association on how best they could market their produce. Most of the farmers who attended the meeting were from nearby communities such as Anfaso, Krabokese, Otoase, Kraboa and Okonkwanta. "Most of the farmers walk all the way from their farms to the major towns carrying their produce on their heads over several kilometres to sell".

Ataa Sowah urged the Member of Parliament for the area, Mr Godfred Otchere to come to their aid by using some of his share of the MP's Common Fund in rehabilitating the deplorable roads. 12 June 07
