Kwesi Appiah set to extend stay as Black Stars head coach

The Normalization Committee tasked to reform Ghana football have confirmed to Citi Sports that discussions are underway to renew the contract of Black Stars head coach Kwesi Appiah.

The former Al Khartoum manager signed a two-year contract under the Kwesi Nyantakyi administration which ends in April 2018.

There has been the need to renew coach Kwesi Appiah’s contract.

Primarily because at the time he was being signed as the Black Stars coach he was given a two-year contract with the arrangement that the Afcon will be played in January 2019.

Fortunately or unfortunately it has been shifted to June so if we don’t renew his contract it will mean that by June contractually he will not be an employee of the Ghana Football Association so there is the need to renew.

There have been preliminary meetings between Coach Kwesi Appiah, Dr Kofi Amoah and Sports Minister Isaac Asiamah.
