Ghanaian reggae and dancehall artiste Emmanuel Andrews (Samini) has joined several voices to pay tribute to the late former UN Secretary General, Kofi Annan.

Mr. Annan was laid to rest on Thursday, 13 September 2018 at the military cemetery in Accra.

Several dignitaries including officials from the UN attended the funeral ceremony held in Mr Annan’s home country.

Speaking in an interview with Prince Benjamin on the Class Drive on Class 91.3FM Wednesday, September 13, Samini said in relation to the funeral that: “He [Kofi Annan] came and he did his best for mankind and for humanity, he came as a humble Ghanaian but he was more for the globe than for just Ghana. So, it became that now that he has been laid to rest, the whole world has to be in Ghana to see him off.”

He added that: “That alone tells you what kind of person he is and what credit he’s got on his belt, so, I’ll just say rest in peace to Kofi Annan.”
