President and Chief-Executive Officer of the Kings and Queens Medical University College and Teaching Hospital, Ghana’s Premier Private Teaching Hospital, Dr. Jerryson Ameworgbe Gidisu believes the establishment of the facility will offer the best healthcare to Ghanaians, far and near.

Dr. Jerryson Ameworgbe Gidisu who is the Founder & CEO of the ultra-modern facility located at Akuse Junction in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipal of the eastern region cut sod for the construction of the facility in January, 2017 with the vision to provide the kind of medical care most suitable for their prospective clients.

The Medical University College and Teaching Hospital which is the first of its kind to be operated individually is expected to improve the health delivery system of the country. Being a preferred healthcare seeking destination in Ghana, the well-equipped facility will provide comprehensive healthcare for many across the country.

The sod cutting for the construction of the Kings and Queens Medical University College and Teaching Hospital on Thursday the 19th of January, 2017 marked the commencement of the construction of the ultra-modern health and educational facility.

The center which is now 80% completed currently provides health services to hundreds of Ghanaians. Its location within the Lower Manya Krobo enclave is also expected to boost health, education as well as employment opportunities to those within its environs.

The center when fully completed in 2020 is expected to house a surgical block, administration block, a ten-storey medical block, a research center, radiology centre and a mortuary. Other facilities include a science-biased Senior High School, student hostels, lecture halls, staff flats, a Great Hall amongst others. With the medical school in the process of obtaining accreditation, Dr. Gidisu is hopeful that the first batch of 20 students will be enrolled by September, 2019 to pursue various medical courses with the potential to increase student intake to 2000 students per year in subsequent years.

As the Kings and Queens Medical University College and Teaching Hospital anticipates expanding the hospital to a 3000 bed facility in its Second Phase of construction in the coming years, it is the hope of the astute medical practitioner to address the deficiencies of health provision, especially in the Eastern region which lacks well equipped hospitals and medical school.

The facility which currently offers a comprehensive medical care package with a carefully functional cardio center, has already obtained licenses or accreditation from the Ministry Of Health (Health Facilities Regulatory Agency, HeFRA) for its operations.
