John Antwi’s goals lead El-Makkasa to victory

Ghana international forward John Antwi bagged a brace as his Misr El-Makkasa side defeated Egyptian giants Zamalek 3-1 in Egyptian Premier League on Monday.

Antwi opened the scoring for El-Makkasa after a terrible mistake from Zamalek’s goalkeeper Ahmed El-Shennawy after just 3 minutes before Zamalek left back Moayad Ajan equalised for The White Knights.

Antwi made it 2-1 to El-Makkasa the as he blasted the ball past El-Shennawy from close range to give his side the lead at half time.

In the dying moments of the match, Hussein El-Shahat made it 3-1 to El-Makkasa when he coolly slotted past the Zamalek keeper.

The victory moved El-Makkasa to 9th place on the league standings while Antwi has now scored 5 goals in his 8 appearances this season.

The former Dreams FC player was part of the Black Stars squad to face Uganda in October in the penultimate 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
