One of the Convenors of the recently held #FixTheCountry demonstration has explained why he wore a pair of torn trousers at the well-attended protest.

According to the outspoken Broadcast Journalist OKatakyie Afrifa-Mensah, he is unable to afford a new one because he is broke just like suffering market women at Agbogbloshie.

“We are done with a demonstration and what the media, UTV wants to focus on is my pair of trousers. It was torn because I have no money to buy a new one. It is the same way those in Agbogbloshie and Alabar are unable to buy a new set of clothing”, he fumed in a video sighted by MyNewsGh.com.

He disclosed that the import of wearing a torn pair of trousers was also to drum home the kind of hardship Ghanaians are going through under the current dispensation.

“Bad leadership over the years, deceiving the people continually…real leadership, selfless leadership that is what we are calling for and not useless radio commentary”, adding that they are calling for real leadership for the country.

OKatakyie Afrifa-Mensah lashed out at government propagandists for painting a picture as though there is development when in actual sense it is the opposite calling on the media to focus on the interest of the citizenry who are yearning for an improvement.

Meanwhile, he has given a hint that a similar demonstration will be held in the Ashanti Regional capital of Kumasi to drum home the concerns of members of the group until government heeds to their concerns.
