How did I miss 2018 VGMAs Hiplife/Hip-Hop category? – M.Anifest gets confused

Finally, the 2018 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) nominees have been unleashed and as custom demands, artistes who failed to secure nomination in the various categories have started throwing indirect jabs.

Setting the record straight, such criticisms have become a ritual of the VGMAs as there’s no single year that a VGMA would be held that there won’t be a controversy surrounding it.

This year’s own is not any different as the award scheme has received a backlash from Ghana’s lyrical monster, Kwame Ametepee Tsikata better known as M.Anifest.

Recounting the words of Obrafour; “M.anifest happens to be the most underrated Ghanaian rapper and that’s not fair.

According to Obrafour, M.anifest’s lyrical dexterity is one of a kind, therefore, it’s high time Ghanaians give him the needed recognition and attention like Sarkodie.

So, it's not surprising that the Hiplife/Hip-Hop act has taken a swipe at Charterhouse for excluding him in this year’s VGMAs especially in the category of Hiplife/Hip-Hop.

On records, M.anifest released a couple of songs that should have helped him secure a nomination especially the “Azumah Nelson Flow” song or perhaps “Me Ne Woa” ft. King Promise.

Therefore, disappointed M.Anifest took to social media specifically Twitter to voice his anger indirectly on the 2018 VGMAs selection committee for ignoring his works.

He tweeted; “Oh wait… How did I miss this Hiplife Hip-Hop conversation. What did I miss”.

As a reminder, M.Anifest won 2017 VGMAs Hip-Hop song of the year category with “godMC” beating the likes of Sarkodie, Medikal, E.L, & Edem while his biggest rival, Sarkodie won Hiplife/Hip-Hop artiste of the year in 2017. Unfortunately, M.Anifest is missing out in this year’s 2018 VGMAs in all the categories.
