Highlights of the Ghana Association of Pittsburgh annual dinner dance & fundraising

The Ghana Association of Pittsburgh held its Annual Dinner Dance and Fundraising at the Best Western Hotel in Monroeville, a suburb of Pennsylvania.

The event started with the Association recognizing and honouring the Mayor of Pittsburgh, Bill Peduto and the Allegheny County Executive, Rich Fitzgerald for “their selfless dedication to diversity and inclusiveness to immigrants and minority communities in the Pittsburgh area”.

The Special Guest, Ambassador of the Republic of Ghana to the United States of America, His Excellency Dr. Barfour Adjei-Barwuah presented the awards to the representatives of the two men.

The Ambassador appealed to the Ghanaian Community in the United States of America to find a way to support their country.

Steve Green, an American Pediatrician based in Pittsburgh who for the past 30 years has been a friend to Ghana highlighted on some of what he has done for the country under the tutelage of his Hope for Ghana projects. The Ghana Association of Pittsburgh is a non-profit Association and operates exclusively for education and charitable purposes.

The Association is to foster positive social and professional relationship among Ghanaians and also educate and share Ghanaian culture with interested parties in Greater Pittsburgh.
