Garrison Basic School wins Milo Junior Ball National Champions

Garrison Primary/Junior High School, Burma Camp, Accra exhibited splendid performance in the finals of the 2012 Milo Junior Ball National Basketball Competition to beat Mfantsipim Junior High School, Cape Coast 29-21 at the El Wak Stadium at the week-end.

The competition, which saw the eight finalists displaying amazing skills, character and team spirit, saw the national champions, emerging the best out of the lot with Daniel Owusu taking up a lead role in the final game to ensure a safe delivery of the title.

Indeed it was a sweet revenge for the Garrison lads who beat the Greater Accra regional champions, Kalvary School in the semi-finals to book a date with Mfantsipim who also accounted for their Central regional rivals, Catholic Jubilee High School.

Garrison also capitalized on their physique to overcome the the lads from Central Region, who rather looked lethargic and uninspiring, hence providing the champions with an easy platform to win the championship.

Kalvary School-Teshie took the third position after beating Catholic Jubilee in the third place play off match.

In the Cheorography competition, SOS Village, Tema recaptured the ultimate title with another wonderful traditional performance with Cosmos School Complex placing second while 37 Military School took the third place.

In the singing and rap competition, MacCarthy Hill School took the first position, followed by Mount Olive Preparatory School with Kalvary School grabbing the third position.

The competition attracted some of the top brass of title sponsors, Nestle Ghana Limited producers of Milo and other beverages as well as a host of other notable dignitaries.**
