GETFund Fraud: You gave me no scholarship - Former TV3 journalist cries out

Hajia Ramana Shareef, a journalist and Communication strategist, whose name is captured in an audit report as having been a beneficiary of Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETfund) scholarship has strenuously denied ever being granted such a scholarship.

Reacting to publications that she was a beneficiary, Hajia Ramana Shareef debunked the reports stressing that she was never granted the scholarship money.

“So this country called Ghana, why at all are we so wicked to ourselves.

You put my name on a list of scholarship beneficiaries, which you never paid! So who took the money?

I am so angry right now. Samson Anyenini, please I need to talk to you urgently,” she cried out.

In the audit support, Hajia Ramana Shareef reported received a total € 22,730 to pursue a Master’s of Science degree in Communication for Innovation and Development at the University of Reading in the UK.

But she said “I got admission to read in 2013 to study MSc Communication for Innovation and Development which was to be a starting point for my PhD dream. I applied for a scholarship at GETFUND, I got award letter but the fees was never paid. I had to defer twice and finally canceled because of the nonpayment of the fees which made it difficult to get a student visa to the UK”

Her denial seems to say that she may have been granted the scholarship in name, that she never received the money for the scholarship.

The explosive audit report listed many influential people who undeservingly benefitted from the scholarship, including Ministers and Members of Parliament.
