Foreign Minister entreats Ghanaians to embrace free SHS policy

Mrs Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has called on Ghanaians to embrace the free Senior High School (SHS) policy and work together to make it a success.

She noted that this was important because of the enormous benefits the country stood to gain through the development of her human capital.

Mrs Botchwey made the call during the dedication of the Yahweh Dream House church at Anyaa in Accra.

She said the policy had offered opportunities to many students from poor homes, who otherwise could not have received Senior High School education.

The Minister, who is also the Member of Parliament for Anyaa-Sowutuom constituency, advised parents to take advantage of the intervention to educate all their children and make their lives meaningful to society.

Mrs Botchwey commended the church for putting up the edifice in the constituency, and assured that the government would do everything possible to ensure that roads in the constituency were reshaped.

She urged the youth to desist from all forms of negative tendencies that may ruin their future aspirations.

DCOP Maame Tiwaah Addo Dankwah, Acting Director of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), also commended the church for impacting positively on the lives of the community over the years.

She expressed the hope that the church would work even harder to ensure that more souls were won for Christ.

Apostle Ephraim Kwaku Danso, Leader of the church, urged Ghanaians to support the government in its developmental agenda.
