Former player of Asante Kotoko Ernest Boateng has revealed how he combined his work as an electrician while playing for the Porcupine Warriors.

The ex-footballer who joined the Porcupine Warriors in 1994 disclosed he had initially not want to sign for the club but had to be convinced by a fan of the Reds.

Ernest Boateng was one of the pioneers of the Asante Kotoko U-20 team before going to become a first team member.

"I was an electrician before joining Kotoko U-20, we were the players they used to form the U-20," he told ASH FM.

"I was one day called for a justify in the Senior team and after the justify the management called me to sign a contract surprisingly but i refused at the spot, so a die Hard fan of Kotoko i know much came and convince me before i signed for Kotoko which was in 1994/95 season," he added.

"Even when i signed for Kotoko i was still doing my job as an electrician."
