ECG connects Ablekuma to constant power

Residents of Ablekuma will from Tuesday, January 15 experience constant and reliable power supply following the completion of work on a 1.5 million-cedi feeder project by the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).

The 23-kilometer network is expected to relieve some loads from the existing networks that have been experiencing challenges.

Acting General Manager of ECG at the Accra West Region, Engineer Ankomah Emmanuel, who disclosed this to 3news.com, said the new feeder project would solve irregular power supply to some 14,500 customers in Ablekuma.

“There is going to be enough capacity to bring in more customers when the project is executed,” Ing. Ankomah said.

Beneficiary areas, he noted, include Agape, Borkorbokor, Manhea, Afuaman, Oduman, Joma, Abease and surrounding communities.

Ing. Ankomah Emmanuel said a bulk power supply point is under construction at Pokuase, which upon completion, would serve customers within Ofankor.

“Per our electrical connection systems, we will be able to link up Ofankor and Ablekuma to enhance power services to our cherished customers.”

He, however, warned that anyone caught engaging in illegal connection will be handed over to the police to face the full rigours of the law.
