A Presidential aide and Member of the Government’s Communication team, Stan Xoese Dogbe, has taken a swipe at the dismissed Director of the Information Services Department, (ISD) Mr. Agyiri Banor, calling him a coward.

Speaking on the Citi Breakfast Show on Tuesday, September 28, Stan Dogbe rubbished allegations of widespread corruption levelled against him in a statement released over the weekend by some unnamed staff of the ISD.

A group calling itself Concerned Staff of ISD released a long statement over the weekend, accusing Information Minister, Hon. John Tia and his two deputies of presiding over growing corruption at the Ministry.

The statement also called on President John Mills to immediately dismiss Mr Stan Dogbe, accused by the group of contributing to the alleged corruption and confusion in the sector.

Information Minister, John Tia, has since rebuffed the allegations levelled against him. He made shocking revelations to Citi FM on Monday, of how the dismissed Head of the ISD, Mr. Agyiri Banor, allegedly attempted to corrupt him during his early days at the Ministry.

Mr Dogbe also told Citi FM, that the allegations levelled against him are “frivolous” and called for an independent probe to establish his guilt or otherwise.

“To whatever extent that the investigations should go, whether internal audit, whether the external auditors, whether a commission of enquiry, whether CHRAJ, wherever that it ought to go, it should go because some of the issues that have been raised are completely baseless because when a minister has to travel on a week tour of the Ashanti Region with his deputies surely they will sleep in a hotel, they are not going to sleep in their cars, they have to drive, they are entitled to some per diem and I am not even sure those figures are up to five thousand Ghana cedis (GHc5,000)”

“why do you engage in such generalised allegations without any bases because you have been removed from office for certain defined reasons...why should you engage yourself in an attempt to destroy your own people but like I said he should stop the cowardice, he should be bold, he should submit himself to provide evidence at any investigative forum and I can assure you the Minister of Information, his two deputies and myself, we are ready to submit ourselves to any form of investigations chaired by whoever”.
