Crane driver murdered at Tema New Town

A 35-year old crane driver has been murdered by two unidentified at Tema New Town in the Greater Accra region.

The deceased, Frank Awoteh according to reports was shot thigh at his residence after he attempt to prevent the armed robbers from entering his room.

Wife of the deceased, Abena Asantewaa in an interview with Adom News said the gunmen wearing face mask committed this heinous act at around 1:00 am Monday dawn.

She said woke up to urinate when she heard to gunmen forcing their door open.

“When I asked who was trying to open the door, one of the robber said he was looking for Sister Adwoa so when my husband tried to interrogate them further, they order him to open the door which he refused” she stated.

Abena Asantewaa noted that when the armed robbers forced the door opened, they shot at my husband who died instantly.

She indicated that a neighbour who witnessed the scene was nearly shot for trying to raise an alarm.

The wife of the deceased suspect foul play since according to her, the gunmen made away with only a mobile phone and a laptop belonging to her husband.

Abena Asantewaa called on the police to investigate the case thoroughly and bring the culprits to book.

Meanwhile, Tema Regional Police 2IC, ACP Kofi Boadu Peprah appealed to calm as they investigate the matter.

He called on residents of Tema New Town who have complained about the incessant robbery attacks in the area to volunteer information to enable them arrest the criminals.

ACP Boadu Peprah urged the family of the deceased to have faith in the police to deliver justice in the murder case.
