Communication Ministry vows to fix call interruptions

The Communication Ministry has pledged to address issues of service interruptions from telcos to consumers.

A Deputy Minister for Communications, George Andah told Citi Business News the ministry is engaging with the various telcos on how best to address the challenges they face.

Telcos in the country have complained of unreliable power supply, as well as high taxes among other things.

Mr. Andah was of the view that telcos will have an opportunity to expand their operations once the challenges are addressed.

The telcos who have continually bemoaned the cost of power and numerous taxes are highly expectant of government to deal with these issues
“I’m sure that for the first time where you have the honorable minister and the sector minister having an experience as far as the industry is concerned and having a deputy who also has that experience the total compliment of the leadership of the ministry plus the experience of the Board Chairman of the NCA. So we have a situation where we are all customer centric and we have the experience to make sure that at the end of the day the government is delivering on its agenda,” he said.

He further assured that the Communications Ministry will work to meet the expectations of Ghanaians.

“We have a situation where at the end of the day the consumer is getting the best experience, so as far as that is concerned there’s a solid team in place to make sure that consumers are not short changed we are going to make sure that we drive service quality, we drive affordability as well as access,” he noted.
