Chairman Wontumi should be warned, Ghanaian need a message not attacks

In the era of intellectual political paradigm where it is expected that leaders of our society must make it a priority to focus on helping to build an advanced society where most of the societal problems we see are reduced to negligible magnitude, it is very surprising that some of our leaders decide to make it their priority to engage in cheap political propaganda of slandering, character assassination and fabrication of cheap lies which has no purpose and direction. This tells us to us the lack of vision of such perpetrators and the necessity to put them in the basket of failures and incompetence where they rightfully belong.

The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party who owns a radio station comes on air, not to demonstrate intellectual traits worthy of emulation, but to engage in baseless,fallacious and unnecessary loose talks, which reduces our modern politics to a primitive inconceivable acts that have no space in political discourse.

The Chairman often appears on his Wontumi morning show to slander the Former President of the Republic, John Dramani Mahama, calling him, ‘Criminal flag bearer, without any justifications, proof or reasons. Most of his speeches recently about the NDC and the Flag bearer of the NDC, John Dramani Mahama, have been very empty as his part, NPP.

It is very surprising that the Chairman comes to sit on radio to make an emphatic statement that JM is a criminal, when it is obvious that to everyone that the only way one can be declared a criminal is when one is proven guilty before a competent Court of Jurisdiction.

So I ask myself, on what logical basis will the Chairman call anyone a criminal? Unless he is just being mischievously illogical, which is a very bad example for any leader to demonstrate publicly on radio and TV.

So I send this message as a caution to the Chairman to put a halt to all his needless attacks on JOHN MAHAMA. Ghanaians need a message that could be realized to make our lives better, and it is the duty of all party executives to communicate the party’s message when they get the chance to, not to attack someone who has contributed more to this nation than this chairman. I ask myself, even in the Ashanti Region where he is the chairman, what impact has he made there, what impact has made to this country? We cannot find any value for your contribution to this nation, so why then did you engage in needless attack on people who have made impact in this nation.

The Chairman’s action tells us that his party has no message for the young people and good people of Ghana, if he had a message, he would have spent his energy communicating that instead of the useless attacks.

We in the NDC are proud of our leader and flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama and we know most well meaning Ghanaians do so. Hence the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP should think of how to add credibility to their government and its appointees lead by Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo.
